  • Biography:

Joe qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2010 and began his career in theatres as a scrub nurse, progressing to a surgical first assistant; he then practiced for several years as a Nurse Specialist in upper GI surgery providing holistic care for patients.

Joe joined the HPB Nurse Specialist team in 2019. His main responsibilities are to promote high quality of care to patients and their families whilst supporting them through their treatment pathway, providing clinical expertise, specialist advice and education along the way. He also co-ordinates investigations and helps facilitate prompt access to investigations and procedures, this involves liaising with various departments in order to ensure interventions such as ERCP and biopsies are undertaken within appropriate timelines. Joe also ensures patients understand and are well informed of any investigations or procedures that may be necessary as part of their treatment.
