Professor Zhong Chen
  • Biography:
Professor Chen is the Director of Department of General Surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, Director of Department of Hepatobiliary pancreatic Surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, and Director of Institute of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Nantong University, P.R.China.

Professor Chen has received several awards including the Tumor Medicine by the Anti-cancer Association of Jiangsu Province, P.R.China (2015), the Advancement of Science and Technology by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, P.R.China (2002-2013), the Chinese Medicine Prize by Chinese Medicine Association, P.R.China (2005), the Advancement of Science and Technology by the Education Ministry, P.R.China (2003).

Professor Chen has supervised several projects including the “Construction of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery Center” by the Science and Technology Bureau of Nantong, Jiangsu Province, P.R.China (2014), “Precise liver resection and management of perioperative period” by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province (2014), “VEGF-loaded nanoparticles for hepatocyte xenotransplantation” by the National Natural Science Fund (2011), “HGF-loaded nanoparticles for hepatocyte xenotransplantation” by the National Natural Science Fund (2007), “Protection of nanomaterial from immune rejection after hepatocyte xenotransplantation” by the Natural Science Fund of Jiangsu Province (2005), “Study on porcine endogenous retrovirus” by the Postdoctal Science Fund (2003) and key project “Application of nano-technology in hepatocyte transplantation for treatment of liver failure ” by the Health Department of Jiangsu Province, P.R.China (2002).

His research fields include in human hepatocellular carcinoma, acute liver failure, and the development of a bioartificial liver system.
