Kate qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse in 2014 and began her career in cardiology as a staff nurse, from there she went on to work within the community nursing team. Following the community, Kate joined the out-patient department at the Leicester General Hospital.

Kate joined the HPB Nurse specialist team in February 2020. As a key-worker, her main responsibilities are to support patients with HPB cancers and complex diseases through their diagnostic and treatment pathways. Kate provides clinical expertise, specialist knowledge, information and education to patients and their families. Her role also involves coordinating and facilitating prompt access to investigations, procedures and treatments, this frequently involves liaising with various departments to ensure that these happen within appropriate timelines. Kate is also a permanent contact point for her patients throughout their treatment pathway and provides further information about support organisations and other services as required throughout various points along their journey, her previous experience as a community nurse is invaluable to the role.
