Ajay graduated from Leicester medical school in 2003 after a 6 years of study which included an intercalated BSc research degree. He completed his basic medical training in Sydney (Australia) and in Liverpool before returning to Leicester. He trained in Gastroenterology and General Medicine within the Leicester deanery for 8 years. This included a 3 year research and advanced endoscopy fellowship based in University Hospitals Leicester, Kettering General Hospital and University of Leicester. During this time Ajay trained in advanced therapeutic ERCP techniques with Professor Dennison.
Ajay works as a Consultant in Kettering and in Leicester and has interests as a clinician and a clinical researcher in Inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer and advanced endoscopy techniques including ERCP.
Outside of work, Ajay plays badminton at league club level and enjoys spending time with his young family.
